LONDON: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, recovering from COVID-19, says he is looking forward to returning to office.
Johnson reportedly plans to return to Downing Street as early as Monday to address the country’s COVID-19 crisis.
He is understood to have told his aides to schedule a meeting with each Cabinet minister next week, the Telegraph reported .
He was previously admitted to the COVID-19 infected ward and is now recovering after being released from the hospital and undergoing rehabilitation at his home in Chequers. Johnson, 55, was admitted to St Thomas Hospital earlier this month after showing symptoms of fever and cough.
He was then rushed to the intensive care unit (ICU) where he received treatment for three nights. Johnson was the first state hospital to be hospitalized for coronavirus infection. In his absence, Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab took over.
