The trial of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak involved RM 1.28 billion in 1 Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) funds. This will be the first high-profile hearing to be made public on May 13. Review in court.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Ahmad Akram Gharib said that all parties, including Najib, should attend Justice Collin Lawrence Sequerah Jury.
“At the moment, we have been instructed to appear in court on May 13. The case will be filed in public court,” he said when contacted.
Ahmed also said that the court has issued guidelines for litigation in public courts, including social isolation.
Najib ’s lead counsel Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah is expected to continue to question the ninth prosecution witness after the hearing.
The judiciary said in a statement on Sunday (May 3) that the cases to be heard in public court will be conducted in stages starting on May 13.
