Former Waterford forward Marvin Sordell said that the Premier League must consider the personal circumstances of all players and understand that they have the right to refuse to return to action when this season’s new coronavirus recovery has stalled.
Since mid-March, professional football has been suspended due to the coronavirus, which has infected more than 186,000 people in Britain and killed more than 28,000 people.
The Premier League 20 club held a conference call last week. They studied the plan to resume training this month, but delayed the decision to resume the season until the government approved it.
Sordell said some players may have reservations.
