Senior US officials accused the Chinese laboratory of being the source of a coronavirus pandemic, which has studied the world’s most dangerous diseases.
US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo both claimed that there is evidence that the pathogen came from a laboratory in Wuhan-Wuhan was the city where the disease was first discovered at the end of last year.
But the World Health Organization said Washington did not provide any evidence to support the “speculative” claim. Scientists believe that coronaviruses may leap from animals to humans, and may be on the market for wild animals in Wuhan.
Anthony Fauci, the top American epidemiologist, responded to the World Health Organization’s statement, telling National Geographic that so far, all evidence has “strongly indicated” natural origin.
