The question over an extension of the moratorium on bank loans, Internet coverage and response to domestic travel in post-Covid-19 recovery period are among the issues expected to be raised in Parliament on Monday (July 27).
Former finance minister Lim Guan Eng (PH-Bagan) will be asking his successor whether the financial moratorium by banks will be extended for another six months.
Lim also wants to know what assistance will be provided to traders and individuals for housing loans, credit cards and vehicles.
He is also expected to raise the issue with Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz on why interest is still charged even though it was informed that it will be exempted before.
Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Richard Riot anak Jaem (GPS-Serian) and Datuk Mohd Salim Sharif (BN-Jempol) are expected to bring up issues related to Internet coverage and reception in rural and remote areas.
They want Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah to state the ministry’s plan to improve and upgrade services.
Yamani Hafez Musa (Bersatu-Sipitang) wants Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri to state the response of tour operators and the people to post-Covid-19 domestic travel.
The Dewan Rakyat sitting will also see the resumption of debates on the motion of thanks on the Royal Address which is ongoing until August 27.
