Woman with PUS tag trying to visit bank identified

BUTTERWORTH: A woman with a Covid-19 Persons Under Surveillance (PUS) tag was caught while trying to visit a bank here and has been identified.

North Seberang Prai OCPD Asst Comm Noorzainy Mohd Norsaid the woman, who is under quarantine, was caught trying to enter a bank along Jalan Ong Yi How here but escaped, has been identified.

“The woman named Ang Li Shin, 25, from Taman Seri Teratai, tried to enter the bank at around 12.30pm on Wednesday (July 29).

“The security guard noticed the pink band on her hand and stopped her from entering the building.

“The security guard then notified the bank (management), but the woman ran off before they could get her details,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (July 29).

ACP Noorzainy said the bank reviewed security footage to help identify the woman.

“The picture showing the back of the woman wearing the tag was also circulated on social media by an unknown source.

“The woman tested negative on July 15 and July 28.

“The monitoring expires today, July 29,” he said.

ACP Noorzainy said the woman returned from Thailand on July 15.
